Do No Log VPNs really keep no usage logs?

Asked 2 years ago

Hey. I have heard a lot about how important it is to buy a No Log VPN since there supposedly have been cases of VPNs selling information to third parties. But is it really possible for a VPN to exist that does not keep any data? Surely crash reports need to be kept in order for the VPN to keep functioning? Any insight into this topic would be appreciated, thanks.

The truth is that this differs from VPN to VPN. For example, CyberGhost, NordVPN, and ExpressVPN have been audited by independent auditors, ensuring that they aren't keeping any logs of the user. Other VPNs, however, have not disclosed this, so it's safe to assume that they're keeping at least some of the user's data. Now, whether or not they're selling that data is a point of discussion, but if security is your number one priority when browsing, using a No Log VPN is definitely beneficial.
