Does a VPN hide your online activity from a router?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi there. My friend advised me that WiFi routers are able to record all websites that you visit and that using incognito mode does not prevent this. Does anyone know if using a VPN can hide online activity from a WiFi router? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it does! A VPN can hide your online activity from your router. This is because a VPN prevents all traffic from leaving the server and routes that data through it. Therefore, your router will only see the encrypted data sent to and from the VPN server. That means it will not be able to connect with any other devices (i.e., routers) in between them. Therefore, if you are using a VPN on your computer, you'll not be able to see any online activity occurring on your computer screen.
