Does using a VPN protect me against UPnP security vulnerabilities?
Asked 2 years ago
Hi there. I have been using a UPnP-enabled router for a while now in order to connect my devices to Wi-Fi. However, I have recently heard that these routers can be used by cyber criminals due to the settings in the router. Does anyone know if using a VPN will provide protection against UPnP security vulnerabilities? TYIA.

Leaving UPnP open is the same as opening the back door for breachers. Therefore, you need to take proper measures to deal with them. Manually turning off this back door can be confusing with all the complex steps. However, there is an easy way, and that is through the VPN. Choosing a VPN for the task is ideal as it provides network-wide encryption that keeps you safe from the protocol of universal plug-and-play.
