Should I leave my VPN on all the time?

Hi there. I find that my battery drains quickly if I leave my VPN for too long. If I am only using the VPN for streaming tv shows, and not for browsing, is it safe for me to take it off when I am not streaming? Or is it better for me to leave it on all the time to ensure my data and device stays safe? Thank you for responses.

Depending on the type of work you do on your computer, having a VPN permanently activated might be a wise decision. If you're constantly working with sensitive data, for example, a VPN will be incredibly valuable as a privacy tool. This is because it masks and encrypts all of the data that you send over the Internet, and this is important if you're handling financial, medical, or highly-technical data. Still, there are some downsides, like slower Internet speed or, in your case, battery drainage. Nevertheless, it can be a wise choice if you're regularly working with potentially sensitive data.
