Can my employer track my internet activity if I have a VPN activated?

Ever since the pandemic, our company's structure changed to having part-time office work and we work from home 3 times a week. Our company suggested we use our work VPN when logging into the system from home. That got me thinking if my employer could view my internet activity on my personal devices when I have the VPN on.

Using your work VPN may make your employer aware of your IP address. Your company can easily access activities through this information on your device. To avoid this privacy breach, use a third-party app or specific VPN service that masks your IP address. Moreover, keep your data encrypted by accessing premium VPN servers.
