Can I use a VPN to avoid price discrimination?

Asked 2 years ago

Good morning, I live in Switzerland, and often I find that when I have my VPN connected, the products for sale are so much cheaper because I have my location set to South Africa. Would it be safe to buy products with my VPN, or could I get into trouble with legal authorities?

No, you won't get in legal trouble by using a VPN for online purchases. Merchants have always charged higher prices in places where there's a higher living standard, but this doesn't mean that you can't find a way to pay a lower price.

The only problem you might encounter while using a VPN for online purchases is regarding shipping. If your geolocation is set to South Africa with a VPN, but your delivery address is in Switzerland, the merchants might refuse to accept the order.
