Which VPN protocol is the most secure?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi there. I have recently heard about how using a VPN protocol is beneficial for authentication and encryption and therefore I am considering using one. For anyone who has used one before, which one would you say is the most secure? Thanks for your responses!

The most secure VPN protocol is OpenVPN. It is an open-source protocol, meaning it's not patented, and the source code is available for all to see. For that reason, anyone can audit the code, so there's more transparency and accountability in how the encryption works.

It is the most secure option because it uses AES-256 to encrypt the data, which is much more advanced than the standard AES-128. Besides that, it also has a built-in kill switch so that if your connection drops, you will immediately be disconnected from the internet.
