Hi everyone. Work has introduced a new working from home policy allowing us to work from our personal computers but we must use a VPN. Can ransomware spread through a VPN?
Good day to everyone. Long story short my son has been staying with me for a while and I noticed he installed something called a VPN on my computer. Three days ago I got an SMS message from a number I've never seen before asking me to click on a link. I suspect it is something malicious and the two are linked. Is it possible that the two are linked and I'm getting these messages from this VPN thing?Asked 9 months ago

Is it worth paying for a VPN to prevent ransomware spam?
Hi everyone, I currently use a free VPN which was going fine until recently I've noticed that some e-mails are bypassing my spam inbox. For those of you that have purchased VPNs, are they better at filtering out and preventing ransomware spam from reaching the main inbox?Asked 9 months ago

What is the best way to avoid ransomware while using VPN on a public network?
Hello all, got a letter of approval from the council today regarding renovations on the building I'm living in. I expect I'll be working out of home quite a bit using local networks at public libraries/cafes and such. Anyone know if VPN security differs on public networks compared to private ones? I really don't want to end up downloading ransomware or something similar. Thanks in advance. Asked 9 months ago

Phone stolen, keep getting ransomware spam.
Hey everyone, about a week ago my phone was stolen. Since then I've noticed I keep getting emails and pop ups which are obviously spam/ransomware. Anyone know of a way to reduce the amount of spam I'm getting? I'm thinking of using a VPN for a while but I'm not sure if that would help? Cheers. Asked 9 months ago
