Can a VPN be used to prevent an evil twin attack?

Asked 2 years ago

Hi. I travel for work quite often and therefore I am always connecting to hotel and airport WiFi. However, after recently hearing about how easy it is to fall victim to an "evil twin attack" because of how hard it is to identify "evil twin networks," I am looking for ways to prevent them from occurring. Anyone know if a VPN is useful for this purpose?

Yes, you can use a VPN to prevent an evil twin attack. To prevent this attack, you must use a VPN service that provides secure encryption for all incoming and outgoing traffic. This way, even if someone tries to create an evil twin using your computer's IP address, they'll have trouble accessing your data. That's possible because they will not get in without being detected by the VPN company's security system first.
