What are the risks that come with a VPN hack by a cyber attacker?

Hello. I work in the HR Department of a company that suffered from a VPN hack by a cyber attacker recently. However, I do not know what the risks faced by the company are as a result of the hack. Will this cause disruptions to company operations? Are there any other risks to be concerned about? TYIA.

There are many other ways that hackers can take advantage of you when they gain access to your data: they can sell it or use it for identity theft. There is also the possibility that hackers will try to exploit vulnerabilities in your VPN software. It may help the attackers gain access to your network's internal resources and sensitive information like passwords or credit card numbers.
