Can a VPN unlock different Spotify playlists on various devices?

Asked 2 years ago

Good afternoon all. I want to access various types of music and podcasts that are not necessarily available in my country. I'm also considering upgrading my Spotify premium to a family plan to create different profiles for each 'location.' Would I be able to use my VPN to have each device in a different location, thereby accessing the other region-locked content?

Yes, a VPN will allow you to view data that might be restricted in your region (in your case Spotify playlists). This is because a lot of data on the Internet is geo-restricted (i.e., it's unavailable at a specific region or country). This is due to many reasons, but it's primarily due to different jurisdictions in different countries. The good news is that a VPN will help you circumvent this. However, Spotify might require you to change your profile's location in settings, so keep that in mind if you cannot access Spotify after using a VPN.
