Can I leak banking information using a free VPN with built-in ads?

Asked 2 years ago

I found a free VPN for my PC to use while I am banking. However, it comes with a lot of built-in ads - I guess it's how they make their money - but I'm worried that this compromises the security of the VPN since it's connected to third parties. Does anyone know if this VPN would still secure my connection or if it will leak my data?

The built-in adverts inside free VPNs do pack some harmful malware. The suspicious VPN clients have programmed malware integrated into adverts that can leak your information to their central servers. Some can catch credit card information, while others reveal your IP address. Therefore, using a free VPN for banking is nothing more than a considerable risk. Experts suggest using premium VPNs like Surfshark and Nordlayer to access such confidential data.
