Can I be blocked from accessing business funds if I’m using a VPN?
Asked 2 years ago
I own a small business and all my funds are in a separate bank account. I need to be able to access my funds at a moment's notice through online banking from my laptop. In order to keep my banking information and pins secure, I want to get a VPN. However, I am scared that a VPN could potentially block me from accessing my business funds.

VPN blocking is entirely dependent on your bank and its security policies. Banks like Bank Of America, Wells Fargo, and CitiGroup are known to block VPN connections aggressively, while some banks are more lenient with VPN usage. There are 3 things you can do to access your business funds with a VPN without worrying about VPN blocking:
- Check if your online banking application or website allows you to use VPN.
- Use a top-notch quality VPN and browser to prevent any mishaps.
- Clear your cookies before accessing your bank account.
