How do I pause my VPN?

Hi! A friend of mine who has a VPN has mentioned that pausing it is beneficial for whitelisting a router's IP address. Does anybody know how to go about pausing a VPN? Thanks in advance.

Every VPN has a separate way to pause the connection. As for general guidelines, you can pause your VPN by following these steps:
- Tap the Settings icon on your app's home screen.
- Tap General in the Settings menu.
- Tap VPN on this screen to open the VPN settings page for your app (if it's not already open).
- Tap the Pause button next to your desired VPN profile.
